Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I am now entering the wonderful world of blogging! Aren't you as excited as I am? I basically am starting this so that I can let people know what's going with me... if anyone cares. I figure my family and friends can at least check it out and post comments to let me know how they are doing too.
Tonight is Christmas eve and in my family we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. Why, you may ask? For good reason: my father's birthday is on Christmas day, and we like to make him feel special on his birthday, not make him share it with the rest of us. Apparently when he was growing up this didn't happen too much-- that is no big deal was made out of his birthday. My mom goes out of her way every year to make it special for him though, so at this point he's probably had just as many birthdays celebrated than not.
So you know that you have actually turned into a grown up when the anticipation that builds up to Christmas doesn't have to do with what you are getting, but with whether or not others will like the gifts that you selected for them. This year I did several homemade presents and really could not wait to see if my friends who received them liked them. The biggest undertaking was a cornhole game that me and my friend Jenny made for our other friend Kristin. Check out what cornhole is here. Yes, generally alcohol is involved, but it doesn't have to be. (Although as Stephen Morris once said, " There is more to life than beer alone, but beer makes those other things even better.") I also made my friend Jenny a collage of memorabilia and photos from Luke Bryan concerts we attended. The best part was they both really enjoyed their gifts.
I got some pretty awesome presents myself, including the American Idol Wii game. Now, generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of American Idol, but I LOVE this game because you get to SING! If you know me at all you know how big of a deal this is for me! I also got "Dirty Dancing: The Game"- which is a board game. My parents gave me some cash, some clothes and a book, and my mom and brother both gave me different seasons of Beverly Hills 90210 on DVD. I LOVE BH 90210. There's this great site called the 90210pedia you can check out at 90210pedia.com!
Well, I hope all of you out there in the blogosphere have a very Merry Christmas.
